Chillerama

This Movie is beyond explanation. If you like Cheesy horror/gore with a healthy dose of sex then check it out.  It takes place at a Drive in movie theater that is about to close forever and is showing 4 lost Horror films on its last night, The first is "Wadzilla" and was directed and written by Adam Rifkin spoofing 1950s monster movies. The second segment is "I Was a Teenage Werebear" and was directed and written by Tim Sullivan which parodies Rebel Without a Cause, Grease and The Twilight Saga and is set in 1962. The third is called "The Diary of Anne Frankenstein" and was directed and written by Adam Green and spoofs Hitler and The Diary of Anne Frank. The last segment is "Zom B Movie", a spoof of zombie films, and was directed and written by Joe Lynch.

OK so lets have a discussion on Season 2 of The Walking Dead on AMC. As a horror TV show this is a instant classic not only from story and character angle but also the special effects and filming are on par with any big cinema release and may surpass even some of those. The big question is its a episodic show so I get that it has to have character development and cannot be action all the time. But this season seems to be taking the zombie out of the show and it is becoming more of a morality soap opera.  That being said in the first run of 6 episodes when they were looking for Sophia were some of the best in developing the groups dynamic we started to see how the characters delved into how the group thought of them as a person. We learn of a impending pregnancy by Lori and then we wonder if its Shane's or Ricks. Shane continues his struggle with Rick leading the group and how he should be the leader and only he can keep the group safe. This isn't meant to be a review or a blow by blow catch up its meant to wonder if the series is taking the character dynamic to far and sacrificing the scare a little bit.

When a movie is based on maybe arguably America's first horror and detective fiction writer all we can do is hope and pray that it is worth wild. When i think of Edgar Allan Poe movies i always will think fondly of the Vincent Price films and what they brought to not only the progression of horror films but the spine tingling joy i got watching them on a Saturday night with Sven Ghoulie. But Rogue films has decided we need to re imagine the Poe story as Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack) teams with a Baltimore detective Inspector Emmett Fields (Luke Evans) to hunt down a killer who is using Poe's short stories as a back drop to his killings. One thing hopeful for the film is James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) is directing. The film also stars Kevin McNally and the lovely Alice Eve. Release date has been moved back is still up in the air.

Released movies in theaters now!

Woman In Black

Underworld Awakening

The Innkeeper

Well after much controversy in which fans of the book rose to the internet to slam the script adaptation in which Brad Pitt who plays title character Gerry Lane in the movie tries to stop the zombie outbreak before it happens. This is nothing like the book that is set thru the eyes of survivors of the zombie wars and spans the globe including a Chinese nuclear submarine. The book did an amazing job of letting the reader understand that the victory over the zombie horde was not really a victory at all and you get the sense for the first time that the world would be devastated after such a event. Author Max Brooks said himself that he was glad he was not asked to pen the script due to the book being almost unfilmable due to budget and logistic problems. Paramount plans on the film being a triology to give the films a chance to embrace the scope of the book. We will see when the film releases later this year.

Rob Zombie's new film The Lord's of Salem is set for a 2012 release written and directed by Rob Zombie. The Dimension film is co-produced bu Haunted Film's which gave us Paranormal Activity. The film which centers around the infamous Salem Witch trial's is set in contemporary Salem as a radio crew  Big H Radio crew is delivered a mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record that when played begins to play backwards. This mark's the 5th movie for Zombie who took on the project when he was given complete creative control. We had heard rumors he was dissatisfied doing both Halloween movies due to studio execs cutting 17 mins from each film that Zombie thought glued the picture's story better. As a fan of House of a 1000 Corpse's and The Devils Rejects i hope this movie is more thought out than the 2nd Halloween which at the end of shooting and production the director was heard saying he no longer cared. The movie hosts a cast that's a who's who of horror films including Sid Haig, Dee Wallace,Udo Kier,Clint Howard to name a few.

We here at the Horror Business Radio Show are involved with a great charity that all horror fans should be a part of. This Chapel is an icon in that it is in the opening scene only briefly but can not be mistaken in the 68 Romero classic Night of the Living Dead. Evans City Cemetery will forever be home to the first ghoul(zombie) to sample its human dinner. And the iconic scene between Johnny and Barbara played by Russ Streiner and Judith O'Dea boils over when Johnny utters "There coming to get you Barbara..." This grass roots organization headed by Gary Streiner and his group of over 2000 members have made it their mission to save the landmark. With hosting event's, eBay auction's,  and tshirt and hoodie sales have raised over 17,000 dollars of the needed 55,000 est needed to save this gem. Please visit the site and make a donation or buy a tshirt and keep Horror Site's Alive.
